Santai Weekend Blogging: Port Dickson

SELESA BEACH RESORT
PORT DICKSON

Just a few pictures that I snap during a meeting that I have attended in PD. I like the view..can help you to de-stress and ease your mind for a while.

Sri Ayutthaya (Thai Cuisine), Damansara

Time sure flies..(pejam celik) its weekend again. After an exhausting morning partipating in 'gotong-royong, suddenly we received a phone call from my mother-in-law insisting that we have to attend a family gathering at a thai restaurant in Damansara. Not that I'm complaining, actually I really like the idea having thai cuisine for lunch. Furthermore, its been quite some time since I last visited any thai restaurant.

Sri Ayuthaya consists of three storey building devoted at serving one of the best thai food in KL (based on recommendations from friends & families). This is actually my first time visiting the restaurant even though we always dine at Victoria Station which situated in the same row.

The ambience I must say really relaxing as soon as you step on to the 2nd floor where there is a spacious dining hall with wood carvings and a small man-made pond.
There is a small verandah outside which I think will be a nice place to dine at night.

Whenever one visit a Thai restaurant, one "must have" is the Tom Yam soup. So we ordered Tom Yum Thalay(RM9.90)...a bowl for each one of us ( there were eight of us altogether). Though it looked hot n spicy, I felt as if something was missing. For me the Tom Yum tastes just OK.

Throughout the lunch we were served with 7 dishes but amongst all I really compliment the siakap, thai style (RM40++)..This thai styled steam fish tastes delicious. No smells and nicely cooked.

Towards the end of lunch, there was a waiter with a large display of desserts tray. The presentation was good, easy for you to choose rather than flipping through the menu.

Price for 8 persons nearly RM 500.00, since we ordered lots of seafood. If divided the price is about RM60++ per person. Personally, I think the food is nice but a bit overpriced.

Sate Kajang, Awan Besar

Sate..sate..:D

Satay (spelled as sate in both Indonesian and Malay and the Netherlands) is a dish consisting of chunks or slices of dice-sized meat (chicken, goat, mutton, beef, fish, etc.) on bamboo skewers. These are grilled over a wood or charcoal fire, then served with various spicy seasonings (depends on satay recipe variants).

Brief history: Satay may have originated in Java or Sumatra, Indonesia, but it is also popular in many other Southeast Asian countries, such as: Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, and Thailand, as well as in The Netherlands which was influenced through its former colonies.

In Malaysia, Satay Kajang by far is the most popular and well known for its juicy and tender 'sate'. I just love the 'kuah kacang'..very unforgettable..

Now they already opened few outlets so you don't have to drive all the way to Kajang to eat satay. Even though some said the satay at their outlets are pre-cooked and not as fresh as Kajang restaurant; for me pre-cooked or not it tastes just the same. The most important part in making satay is the secret recipe of spices to marinate the satay. Usually the longer time taken the better, so that the flavor blend into the meat (chicken, beef etc).

Price per satay for chicken and beef RM 0.60. Total 15 satay with nasi impit, timun, kuah kacang and chilli is about RM 15.00 for two persons. For more info, do check their website http://www.satekajang.com.my/

Asiari, SACC Mall

SACC is a new mall situated within the 'shopping triangle' of Shah Alam which was made of Plaza PKNS & Alam Sentral. The mall is actually quite small and if you are in the mood for window shopping, my advice is please go to any other bigger shopping malls. It only takes 35 minutes for you to explore the mall and by then there will be nothing left for you to discover.

Not much choice though but if you already put your mind on buying specific item such as baby clothing (Anakku & poney), socks (SoxWorld), women's clothes/accessories/shoes (Belle, Primavera, Bonia, Guess, Bonita, Bata, Vincci, East India Company), pharmacy (Guardian & Watson's), gifts (Lovely Lace, Memory Lane), books (Mph), cds/vcds (Speedy) etc, electrical (Senheng) ; than this is the place that you should go. Easy 'cos you can save your time, no need to waste your energy walking around.

Usually when I came back late due to traffic jams or tons of work at the laboratory, my mood to cook for dinner was low so we always decide to have dinner outside. One good thing about the mall is the basement always half empty at night, so it's easy for me to find parking. On the ground floor there are few restaurants and bakery shop where you can drop by for quick lunch or dinner. After looking around (not so many choice and we have dine at Nando's, Pizza Hut, Only mee before), we finally agreed to try Asiari restaurant.

The interior looks nice, its a blend of modern and asian design. But we are looking forward to sample their foods, the picture looks tempting and pretty inviting. However, my husband commented that his 'nasi goreng' tastes just OKlah and for me my Chicken n Gravy set is actually quite yummy even though the portion is small. But there are salads and jelly that helps to fill in your tummy if the chicken is not enough. Price is moderate about 9.++ to 18.++ per dish. Total for two persons is about RM 25- RM 30.

Roasted Chicken & Chicken Chop at Dave's Deli Subang Parade

I love shopping at Subang Parade for two reasons: 1. just nearby my house 2. I can shop and eat..continue shopping and eat ..or just lepak at 'The Coffee Beans' with my favourite 'Ice blended vanilla' so yummy n surf the internet.

Usually I went there alone but on last weekend my husband decided to buy a pair of sport shoes. So we brought along our son for some window shopping. After looking around and found the shoes, we went shopping some toys for our little boy.

He was so excited running and playing 'hide n seek' in Toys'R'us that we have to coax him out. At noon, my empty stomach was already making a lot of noise so I chose to have our lunch at Dave's Deli.

I'm not sure which level it is but I'm sure you guys can find the restaurant easily. Food was good as usual but during lunch time maybe you have to wait to be seated. Price is very reasonable, a plate of roasted chicken or chicken chop will cost you about RM12.++.
